In short
Wedding Bharat does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking cookie — verified directly in our own source code, not assumed. The few conveniences we do save (dark mode, your wishlist before you sign in, checklist progress) live in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leave your device. Your sign-in session is also kept locally, not in a tracking cookie. A small number of third-party requests (for web fonts and our database provider) happen as part of loading the page — see Section 5 for exactly what those are.

01 Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how weddingbharat.com uses — and, for the most part, doesn't use — cookies and similar browser-storage technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers this same ground briefly in its own Cookies & Local Storage section; this page goes into the full detail for anyone who wants it.
We're publishing this as a standalone page because we think a specific, checked "here's exactly what we do" answer is more useful than a vague cookie-consent banner asking you to accept something undefined — especially since, as you'll see below, there isn't much to consent to in the first place.
02 What Are Cookies (and Similar Technologies)?
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on future visits — commonly used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, or track your activity across sites for advertising. Local storage and session storage are similar browser-storage mechanisms with one important difference: unlike a cookie, they're never automatically sent to a server with every request — a website has to deliberately read them, and only the site that wrote them can read them back.
03 Do We Use Cookies? No tracking cookies
No. We do not set any advertising cookie, analytics cookie, or third-party tracking cookie anywhere on this site. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel, no ad-retargeting tag, and no cross-site tracking script — we checked this directly in our own source code before writing this Policy, rather than assuming it.
This means we don't currently show a cookie-consent banner, because Indian and international cookie-consent practice centers on getting consent before setting non-essential cookies — and we don't set any. If that ever changes, see Section 8.
04 Local Storage & Session Storage We Use
These are stored only in your own browser, never transmitted to our servers as part of an automatic request, and never shared with any third party:
| What | Purpose | Cleared when |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages | You sign out, or (unless "remember me" was checked) when you close your browser |
| Dark mode preference | Remembers your light/dark theme choice | You clear browser data, or switch it back |
| Wishlist & compare list (signed out) | Lets you save vendors before creating an account | You clear browser data — once you sign in, this merges into your account and syncs there instead (see our Privacy Policy) |
| Recently viewed vendors | Recorded for a possible future "recently viewed" feature — not currently displayed anywhere on the site | You clear browser data |
| Planning checklist progress | Remembers which checklist items you've ticked off | You clear browser data — this is per-browser only, not synced across devices |
| In-progress Budget Planner draft | Autosaves your plan before you explicitly save it to your account | You clear browser data, or once you save the plan for real (it then lives in your account instead) |
None of the above ever includes your name, phone number, or other contact details — the one exception, your sign-in session, is a security token, not your actual personal data, and it's unreadable by any site other than weddingbharat.com.
05 Third-Party Requests That Aren't Cookies
Loading any web page involves your browser making requests to load resources — fonts, scripts, images. A few of ours come from third-party servers, which is worth disclosing even though none of them are cookies:
- Google Fonts — we load our typefaces (Playfair Display, Cormorant Garamond, Inter) from Google's font CDN. Google's current practice is not to set cookies for this, though your browser does make a direct request to Google's servers to fetch the font files, which — like any web request — includes your IP address as a normal part of how the internet works.
- jsDelivr (CDN) — we load the Supabase client library from this CDN. Same as above: a direct request for a script file, no cookie set by us as part of it.
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your browser communicates directly with Supabase's servers to sign you in, load listings, and save your data — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what's stored there and why.
- WhatsApp — when you tap "Book Now" or a similar contact action, we open a link to WhatsApp (wa.me). That takes you to a Meta-operated platform with its own privacy and cookie practices, separate from ours — see Section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
06 Managing or Clearing Your Data
Since everything described above lives in your browser, you're always in control of it directly through your browser's own settings — typically under "Privacy," "Site settings," or "Clear browsing data," where you can clear local storage and cookies for weddingbharat.com specifically, or for all sites. Clearing it will sign you out, reset your theme preference, and clear any signed-out wishlist or unsaved checklist/planner progress — it won't affect anything already saved to your account (wishlist, reviews, listings), which lives on our servers instead and is covered by our Privacy Policy.
07 "Do Not Track" Signals
Some browsers let you send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we don't run any tracking cookie or cross-site tracking technology to begin with, there's nothing for that signal to turn off here — browsing with or without it enabled makes no difference to how this site behaves.
08 If This Ever Changes
If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential cookie or tracking technology, we will update this Policy first, describe exactly what's being added and why, and — where required by applicable law — ask for your consent via an on-site banner before it's ever set. We won't quietly start tracking and update this page after the fact.
09 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Platform changes. When we do, we'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
